Basic Strategy and Rules for Craps   PCO Strategy

Field Bets:

A bet that the next roll of the dice will be 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 or 12.  It is set in the "FIELD" area on the craps table before any one roll of the dice.  If the next roll is 3, 4, 9, 10 or 11, then the field bet wins even money.  If 2 or 12 is rolled, the field bet wins 2 to 1.  If 5, 6, 7 or 8 is rolled, the field bet is loses.

Big 6 and Big 8 Bets:

Do not play the Big 6 or Big 8 bets.  You are better off to place the 6 and 8.

Any 7 Bets:

A bet that the next roll of the dice will be 7.  It is set on any one roll of the dice in the "Seven" field on the craps table.  If 7 is rolled,
you'll win 4 times your bet.

Any 11 Bets:

A bet that the next roll of the dice will be 11.  It is set on any one roll of the dice in the box on the craps table containing the two pictured dice that add to 11.  If 11 is rolled, you'll win 15 times your bet.

Any Craps Bets:

A bet that the next roll of the dice will be 2, 3 or 12.  It is set on any one roll of the dice in the "Any Craps" field on the craps table. 
If 2, 3, or 12 is rolled, you'll win 7 times your bet.

Horn Bets:

A bet that the next roll of the dice will be either 2, 3, 11 or 12. It is a one roll bet that adds up to either to 2, 3, 11 or 12.  A winning horn bet pays 15 to 1 on numbers 3 and 11 and 30 to 1 on numbers 2 and 12.

Hop Bet:

A one roll bet usually made on a combination of the dice not offered on the one roll bets.  For example, [4][4] "hopping" is a bet that two fours called a hard eight, will be thrown on the very next roll.

Hardway Bets:

A bet that the shooter will roll a 4, 6, 8 or 10 as doubles [2][2], [3][3], [4][4] or [5][5] before rolling a 7 or the rolling the numbers easy.  Rolling a number by doubles is called rolling the number "the hard way."  For example, a roll of [4][4] is a called a "hard 8," while a roll of [5][3] or [6][2] is called an "easy 8."  A winning hardway bet pays 7 to 1 on numbers 4 and 10 and 9 to 1 on numbers 6 and 8.

C & E Bets:
A C bet is placed directly on the letter C which stands for "any Craps" bet and is exactly the same as placing a bet on the "any Craps" bet.
A E bet is placed directly on the letter E which stands for "any 11" bet and is exactly the same as placing a bet in the "any 11" field.
C & E Split Bet:

A C and E split bet is placed between the letters C & E on they craps table.
